The Committee on the Judiciary is now evaluating:
2024 Candidates for State Supreme Court in Ulster and Schoharie Counties,
Albany Family Court, Albany Surrogate’s Court and
Schenectady Family Court
The Capital District Women’s Bar Association’s Committee on the Judiciary is tasked with evaluating and rating candidates for judicial office throughout the Capital Region. The Committee’s articulated objective is elevating the quality of the judiciary by approving for election to judicial office only those individuals who have demonstrated excellence in judicial criteria, including integrity, experience, professional competence, independence, judgment, temperament and intellect. The Committee’s work is in furtherance of CDWBA’s Mission of promoting the fair and impartial administration of justice and educating the general public about the legal system.
RESULTS AND FINAL RATINGS OF THE CDWBA COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY FOR THE 2024 ELECTION
The following candidates for election to Albany County Family Court, Albany County Surrogate’s Court and Schenectady County Family Court, were rated by the CDWBA Committee on the Judiciary. The APPROVED rating is available for candidates who possess the necessary criteria and qualifications for the office which the candidate seeks. The COMMENDED rating is available to all candidates found “Approved” who, in the sole discretion of the Committee, have demonstrated an outstanding sensitivity and dedication to issues affecting women in the legal profession and in society in general.
