President: Michelle Haskin President Elect: Susan Taylor 1st Vice President: Joann Sternheimer 2nd Vice President: Susanne Dolin Recording Secretary: Justine Spada Corresponding Secretary: Susan Dautel Treasurer: Jill Gruben President: Michelle Haskin, joined McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams, P.C. in 1996 and became a principal in 2004. She practices in matrimonial and family law and received her J.D. cum laude from Albany Law School in 1994 and a B.A. degree magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1991.
Michelle is a member of the State Bar’s Family Law Section Executive Committee and its Gender Task Force, serves on The Legal Project Board, and co-chairs the WBASNY Matrimonial Committee. She lectures extensively at CLE programs and provides pro bono services at The Legal Project. She has received the CDWBA 2001 Pro Bono Award and the 2006 Stanley A. Rosen Award for pro bono service to domestic violence victims. She lives in Rensselaer County with her husband and three children. President-Elect: Susan Taylor is an assistant attorney general in the Environmental Protection Bureau, a position she has held since 2004. She represents the state in both affirmative and defensive environmental litigation.
Upon graduating magna cum laude from Brooklyn Law School, she clerked for Hon. Carol Bagley Amon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and Hon. Francis X. Altimari of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. After moving to the Capital District in 1996, Susan practiced environmental and energy law at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP and at Cohen, Dax & Koenig, P.C. Susan has been a CDWBA member since 1997 and a member of the Board since 2004. She lives in Sand Lake with her husband and three daughters. 1st Vice President: Joann Sternheimer is a partner at Deily, Mooney and Glastetter, LLP, where she handles bankruptcy litigation. She also counsels lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions and presents litigants in complex commercial litigation.
Joann graduated from Union College in 1987, received her J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1993, and clerked for Bankruptcy Judge William F. Tuohey before joining the bankruptcy department at Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A. in New Jersey. At The Legal Project and Legal Aid, she provides pro bono services. She has received The Legal Project’s Kurt Clobridge Award and the CDWBA Pro Bono Award and is active in the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar. Joann lives in Albany with her husband. 2nd Vice President: Susanne Dolin is a senior attorney at the State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, where she helps review and implement child support policy and legislation.
She has presented CLE programs on medical support enforcement, ethics for child support attorneys, bankruptcy law, and QDROs. Previously, Susanne worked at Deily, Mooney and Glastetter, LLP and at DeGraff, Foy, Kunz and Devine, LLP, both in Albany. She received her B.A. cum laude from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. cum laude from Albany Law School. She has been active in CDWBA since 1999, serving on several committees, on the board, and as Secretary. She is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Albany affiliate of Dress for Success®. Susanne lives in Bethlehem with her husband and two children. Recording Secretary: Justine Spada Recording Secretary Justine Spada is a partner with her father at The Spada Law Firm, where she concentrates in family and matrimonial law, medical malpractice, and personal injury law. She also serves as a law guardian in Schenectady County Family Court. Justine received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law in 1993 after graduating cum laude from Union University in 1990.
She serves on the boards of the CDWBA and The Legal Project, was a founding member of that program’s Board of Directors, has participated regularly in legal advice clinics, and has taken numerous pro bono cases, representing domestic violence victims in Family Court matters and divorces. Justine chairs our Solo Practitioners Committee and is a member of the Albany County and State Bar Associations. She resides in East Greenbush. Corresponding Secretary: Susan Dautel has been an assistant deputy clerk at the State Court of Appeals since 2003. Currently, she is managing the development of a new case management system for the court. Susan spent 16 years in private practice and was a founding partner of Deily, Testa & Dautel.
In the 1980s, she served on the Court’s Central Staff, and she lectures periodically on Court of Appeals practice and procedure. Susan has been a CDWBA member since 1981 and has served on the Association’s Board. She serves on the Executive Board of the ABA Council of Appellate Staff Attorneys. Susan, who is a graduate of Bucknell University and Albany Law School, has been active in Habitat for Humanity’s international arm. She lives in Clifton Park and has two daughters in college. Treasurer: Jill Alicia Gruben Treasurer Jill Alicia Gruben is a managing member of the Gruben Law Firm, PLLC in Malta, where she practices in labor and employment law, estate planning and litigation, intellectual property, and civil litigation. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in journalism and from New York Law School.
Jill is a member of the Steering Committee for the Brandeis Baruch Society of the United Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York and the State Bar’s Committees on Employee Benefits and Government Employee Labor Relations Law. For two years, she was a WBASNY delegate and co-chair of the WBASNY Legislation Committee. She is a recipient of the CDWBA 2006 Outstanding Young Attorney Award. Jill lives in Ballston Spa with her husband and their son. |
